Teacher Trainings
If you're seeking a path to teach with authenticity, depth and sustainability, our Teacher Trainings are designed to support that journey. We are known for strong, grounded classes that reflect integrity and intention, rooted in both classical principles and contemporary functional movement.
Our approach to teacher education is grounded in curiosity, intelligent sequencing, and a balance of effort and recovery. We support teachers, movement professionals, and dedicated students in developing clarity, confidence, and skill while cultivating a sustainable relationship to teaching and practice.
Across every training, we focus on what's often missing after graduation: teacher identity, nervous system literacy, and holding space with confidence and integrity.
We believe the most impactful teachers aren't necessarily those who know the most, but those who can embody the teachings, connect with students, and keep learning throughout their careers.
We are committed to continued education, accessible mentorship, and scholarships for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ trainees, and to growing a diverse community of teachers who are living examples of their practice.

All of our trainings include:
-A combination of online content, virtual live and in person lectures, classes, assignments, practice teaching, and feedback
-A comprehensive training manual with modules including, but not limited to: history & philosophy, functional anatomy, posture workshops and sequencing, teaching method & cueiing, and honing your voice as teacher.
-Practical teaching experience starting early in the training with feedback
-Final assessment and certificate of completion -
Nope - there are no teaching or class prerequisites for this training! We do recommend familiarity with group yoga and/or mat Pilates classes and participants are encouraged to attend at least 6 classes at North Ray Yoga prior to the start of the program.
Once registered, a welcome guide with required reading and recorded or written materials will be sent to you to complete before training begins. -
Yes! Upon successful completion of the North Ray Yoga 75-Hour Mat Pilates Teacher Training, you are equipped to teach Mat Pilates in a variety of settings. With the successful completion of the North Ray Yoga 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you are equipped to teach Hatha and Vinyasa based practices.
Please note that completion does not guarantee teaching opportunities at North Ray Yoga, which are offered separately through an audition process.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All of our trainings are limited to intimate cohorts, so we encourage you to apply early.
All trainings will have an early bird deadline as well as a registration cut off date.

Once your application is reviewed and approved, we'll be in touch to discuss next steps including payment options. The non-refundable deposit is due to secure your spot and deposits received by the early bird deadline make you eligible for the early commitment rate.
Payment plans are offered as monthly installment payment plans with tuition being paid in full by the start of the training, to support making the training more accessible.

What’s included: Tuition covers your training, your training manual, and, where applicable, 6 class credits to use at North Ray ahead of the training. During the training, you can attend classes for free at both North Ray Yoga locations.
What’s not included: Required reading is purchased separately.
What to bring: Your own mat, water, lunch, and snacks. Mats are available to rent or buy at the studio, and water is available to buy.

North Ray’s Open Door Scholarship
Becoming a teacher shouldn’t depend on your bank account. For our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, we offer three Open Door Scholarships: one covering 100% of tuition and two covering 50%.
A strong teaching community reflects the people it serves. We prioritize applicants from underserved and underrepresented communities, including BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ applicants, anyone for whom cost is a real barrier and those who are or have practiced at North Ray Yoga. We’re looking for people who are curious, open to feedback, and ready to learn.

North Ray’s Teacher Training Policies & Guidelines
Payment & Refunds
A $500 deposit secures your spot. It is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Tuition payments after the deposit are non-refundable once made, but may be transferred to another North Ray Teacher Training within 12 months.
In the case of a documented emergency, full tuition paid may be transferred to the next training within 18 months. Emergencies are reviewed by North Ray on a case-by-case basis.
Payment plans are available for Early Bird and Standard registration. Full tuition must be paid by the Live Kickoff on March 26, 2027, for your registration to be complete.
If North Ray cancels or reschedules the training, you will be offered a transfer to the next training or a full refund.
Attendance & Participation
Any self-paced online coursework must be completed before the first in-person weekend.
Trainees must attend at least 90% of live hours. Missed hours must be made up through approved make-up work.
Practice teaching, assignments, and assessments are required for certification.
Certification
NRY Teacher Training certificates are awarded upon successful completion of all requirements.
Community & Materials
All applicants are given North Ray’s Code of Conduct, Anti-Harassment, Grievance, and Retaliation policies before acceptance and must agree to them to enroll.
Training materials are for your personal use only and may not be shared or reproduced.
Completing the training does not guarantee teaching opportunities at North Ray Yoga.
