If you’re seeking a path to teach with authenticity, depth and sustainability, our upcoming Teacher Trainings are designed to support that journey. We are known for strong, grounded classes that reflect integrity and intention, rooted in both classical principles and contemporary functional movement.
Our approach to teacher education is grounded in curiosity, intelligent sequencing, and a balance of effort and recovery. We support teachers, movement professionals, and dedicated students in developing clarity, confidence, and skill while cultivating a sustainable relationship to teaching and practice.
We are committed to a strong focus on continued education, accessible mentorship and scholarships for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ trainees for our 200-hour Teach Training, and we’re committed to growing a diverse community of teachers who are living examples of their practice.
75 hour Mat Pilates Teacher Training

What sets our training apart?
Our 75-hour immersive Mat Pilates Teacher Training is designed to dive deep into the foundations of classical Pilates principles while expanding them through a contemporary, functional lens. Participants will learn to skillfully deliver sustainable, adaptable, mat-based Pilates classes.
The training is built to support confident, thoughtful teachers who move with intelligence and teach with intention. Emphasizing clarity, control, precision, and intelligent sequencing, the program also includes 1:1 mentorship for all participants.
Who is it for?
For teachers, movement professionals, and dedicated students ready to deepen their understanding of movement/mat Pilates while learning to teach mat Pilates.
What’s the time commitment?
This training will be offered over 3 weekends, with both virtual and in person days:
Thursday 4:00-8:00pm virtual live
Friday: 4:00–8:00pm virtual live
Saturday: 9:00am–5:30pm in person - North Ray Yoga - La Brea
Sunday: 9:00am–5:30pm in person - North Ray Yoga - La Brea

Early Commitment: $1,699 - a limited number of early commitment spots are available with non refundable deposit due by July 31, 2026 to secure your spot and early commitment pricing, payment plans available, final installment due September 13, 2026

Nope - there are no teaching or class prerequisites for this training! We do recommend familiarity with mat Pilates and participants are encouraged to attend at least 4–6 mat Pilates classes prior to the start of the program.
Once registered, materials will be sent to you to memorize the mat Pilates exercise names, as well as a required reading list. -
Yes! Upon successful completion of the North Ray Yoga 75-Hour Mat Pilates Teacher Training, you are equipped to teach Mat Pilates in a variety of settings. The program is an immersive training in classical mat Pilates, functional movement principles, anatomy, intelligent sequencing, and sustainable teaching methodology.
Please note however, that we are not affiliated with any credentialed Comprehensive Pilates institutes and completion does not guarantee teaching opportunities at North Ray Yoga, which are offered separately through an audition process.

Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Our 75-hour Mat Pilates training will be limited to a small group, so we encourage you to apply early.
Our early bird registration and payment deadline closes July 31.

Once your application is reviewed and approved, we'll be in touch to discuss next steps including payment. The non-refundable deposit is due to secure your spot and deposits received by July 31 make you eligible for the early commitment rate.
Payment plans are offered as monthly installment payment plans with tuition being paid in full by September 13, to support making the training more accessible.

Tuition covers your training, your manual, and 6 class credits to access classes at North Ray to support your preparation prior to the training.
Required reading materials are not included and will be purchased separately at your own cost.
You are encouraged to bring your own lunch/snacks/water and mat. Water/mats are available to rent or buy at the studio. -
Chandler Farren
Chandler Farren is a movement educator with a multidisciplinary background in Pilates, yoga, and strength-based training across Los Angeles, New York City, and Montreal. With a BA in Dance and a professional background as a dancer, singer, and dance educator, Chandler brings a deep understanding of anatomy, performance, and embodied movement into their teaching. Their approach bridges lineage-informed practice with modern functional movement, emphasizing technical precision, intelligent sequencing, and helping teachers develop both their skills and authentic teaching voice through curriculum development, trainings, and mentorship.
Dr. Nirja Gajjar, PT, DPT
Dr. Nirja Gajjar is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, yoga teacher, personal trainer, and movement educator specializing in the connection between rehabilitation, performance, and functional anatomy. She believes anatomy should feel empowering and accessible, helping students better understand their bodies and move with confidence. Drawing from her work in pelvic health, strength training, and movement science, Nirja combines evidence-based education with practical application to help future Pilates teachers develop a deeper understanding of biomechanics, movement patterns, and the body’s capacity for adaptation.
Harold Holness
Harold Holness is a Performance Leader, Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Certified Personal Trainer with over 10 years of experience developing athletes, mentoring coaches, and building high-performance training environments. His expertise spans strength development, movement quality, injury prevention, and athletic performance. During the contemporary concepts portion of the training, Harold will share his knowledge of progressive loading, resistance training, and integrating strength principles into modern Pilates programming to create purposeful, effective movement practices.
North Ray’s Teacher Training Policies & Guidelines
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot in our teacher training.
Tuition is a financial commitment and is non-refundable once paid.
Full participation across all scheduled sessions, coursework, practice teaching, and assessments is required to receive certification.
Our trainings includes both virtual and in-person immersion training days. Attendance is expected across all scheduled dates.
Certification is awarded upon successful completion of all training requirements.
Training materials are for personal use only and may not be shared or reproduced.
North Ray reserves the right to reschedule or cancel the training if necessary. In this case, participants will be offered a transfer credit or refund option.
Completion of our training does not guarantee employment or teaching opportunities at North Ray Yoga. When teaching positions are available, they are offered through an audition process, and we typically require a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
